The ComforTrack Plus Energy Saving Sidetrack Insulation System is an Eligible Building Envelope Component and meets the requirements for the Non-business Energy Credit under Section 25C as amended by the Tax Relief, Unemployment Reinsurance Authorization and Jobs Creation Act of 2010 of the internal revenue code. The ComforTrack Plus Insulation System is specifically and primarily designed to reduce heat loss or gain in a house.
ComforTrack Plus Insulation System, when installed with light filtering double honeycomb fabric over double-pane glazing window, forms an assembly with a U-factor of less than 0.35 (R-value greater than 2.86). Independent testing has found the effective R-Values of the window shades with ComforTrack Plus sidetracks were 2.5 to 3 TIMES higher than for the same shades without sidetracks!
Homeowners should consult their tax advisor or www.irs.gov to determine whether they qualify for income tax credits. To learn more about the Federal Tax Credits for Energy Efficiency, visit EnergyStar.gov.
The tax credit applies to the cost of the sidetrack system and does not apply to installation. Unlike a tax deduction which reduces the amount of income subject to tax, a tax credit directly reduces the amount of income tax you have to pay. Be sure to consult your tax advisor with further questions regarding the tax credit. |
